Module overview and targets...

Students are required to develop an understanding, knowledge and skills in relation to the following:

• To develop technical awareness and competency
• To provide the opportunity to define personal objectives aligned to career aspirations
• To develop photographic communication skills and techniques to standards appropriate to contemporary professional design practice
• To develop the ability to understand the legal issues behind image development, marketing and portfolio promotion
• To develop understanding of concepts and principles applied within professional design practice
• To engage in the critical evaluation of their own work via structured approaches to reflective practice.

For this project we are required to produce a PDP (professional development plan), where we will set ourselves tasks and use this blog to develop and achieve those set tasks. 

I currently have five targets but this may grow if i think of another target i want to achieve.

My targets are:

1. To gain confidence in talking in larger groups about my own work.

- To achieve this target i will need to practice and the way that the course can aid me in achieving this target is to assign briefs to aid me in how to talk about my own work which will lead to me practicing in front of my peers, members of staff etc. 

2. Learn more about how to use the studio correctly and to its full ability

-To achieve this target i will need to practice using the studio and gain knowledge on how to use different lighting etc, the course can aid me in achieving this target by organising sessions which students can attend who want help in using the studio correctly.

3. Technical Training

-To achieve this target i will need to attend sessions set by the course leaders on 'how to' do specific technical things connected with the briefs we have been given. For example: using a flash gun or lighting an outdoor shoot with poor natural lighting.

4. Learning more about the world of photography and the variety of photographers out there.

- To achieve this target i will need to do extra research into photographers i want to learn about or photographers who are mentioned by our tutors, to do this i will need to read more books and do more internet research and also attend galleries for photography exhibitions.

5. Learning how to get my work out there after i have graduated.

-To achieve this target i will need to attend guest speaker sessions supplied by the course where i can learn how they have made it on the outside and ask relevant questions on my problems and worries about the matter.
